Murals December 1, 2020 // by Admin Elevator MuralThis is one floor of a three-story elevator mural in a Palos Verdes residence. The elevator cabin has a glass side which the mural is viewed through. This portion was created using appliques, stencils and freehand painting. TapestryThis is a 6.5' x 11' blind that hides a movie screen when this Palos Verdes home theater is not in use. It was painted and stenciled to look as if it was actually woven. Demeter Statue with Fruit Ceiling MuralCeiling mural in an entry in Calabasas. This was painted on canvas and then installed. Tuscany Wine RoomThis mural was painted in Orange County. Adonis and Venus Ceiling Mural Chester’s RetaurantThis dome was painted using some of Jeff's stencils. The column was also fauxed. This was an awkward space to paint, wedged between the edge of the dome and the column. This can be viewed at Chester's Asian Restaurant in Camarillo. Maureen O’ HaraUsing a very limited palette, two walls of this small powder room were painted to coordinate with the wall upholstery. The sky color matched the pale wood floor. The other walls were mirrored and we found the glass really had a green cast to it, so we put a touch of green into the mural in the form of a lizard. Dome VenusA dome in a doctor's office in Camarillo. ParisThis mural is in a flower shop called "Flowers Heaven Scent" on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks. Saint TropezThis is the Beverly Hills dining room that the Painted Cupboard was in and the Horse was viewed from. This client was among Jeff's favorites of all time, a pure pleasure to work with. Malibu TreeThis mural was painted to hide five large ugly speakers in the entertainment room. Can you spot three of them? The walls had already been painted in Ralph Lauren's suede paint which actually worked well when it came to sanding and aging the mural. This piece is based on a mural we found in one of the client's books on Italy. TapestryThis was painted in a hallway in Camarillo which only the homeowners used. Likenesses were rendered in period style of the family members. TerraceThis was painted on canvas and installed on a terrace at a Pasadena Showcase House. Most people missed it because they would come out onto the balcony, enjoy the view, and then walk out. The whole time their backs were to the artwork. Trompe l’oeil DraperyTrompe l'oeil drapery in a guest powder room. Pirate MuralThe beach scene was painted directly on the wall in Palos Verdes. The animals and pirate elements were painted separately and applied to the wall so that when the child outgrew the "cute" elements, they could be removed and he would have a "cool dude" beach scene. The Jolly Roger sail was also painted. India MuralThis mural was created using some of Jeff's stencils. This was in a bedroom. NicheThis piece fitted perfectly in the home's entry. The stone surround matched the tile floor and the urn matched one that was in the living room. It was a subtle piece that added just a bit of color and interest to a barren entry wall. « Previous 1 2 3 4 Next »
