Ceilings

DomeThis dome appeared too small for the space, so it was visually enlarged by extending the design 18" onto the ceiling itself. In an entry in Newbury Park.
Bedroom CeilingThis Westlake ceiling was first given a soft colorwash, then a heavier rag in the middle and finally a design done in a metallic bronze. The crown molding was also given the same bronze finish.
Painted CanopyPainted canopy in a small bathroom.
Berry Corner
WreathThis was painted in an LA breakfast room.
Wine Cellar CeilingThe trompe l'oeil beams were laid out to line up with the recessed ceiling lights so the lights wouldn't appear to float in the "sky".
Ceiling MedallionThis ceiling medallion in Simi incorporated all the colors to be found in the entry and adjacent dining room.
Den CeilingNine panels were painted to coordinate with the room's color scheme for producer David Kirschner in The Oaks in Calabasas.
Trellis Ceiling by Jeff Raum & Steve ShriverThis ceiling which consisted of four groins was designed by Steve Shriver. Jeff painted all the architecture and Steve painted the organic elements. This was for the president of John Robert Powers, located in Pacific Palisades.
Maraya Ceiling
Moroccan MedallionThis medallion was painted to tie in with the lantern and rug below. Jewels were attached to catch the light. An entry in Newbury Park.
Ceiling medallion for a contemporary home
Dragon MuralThis was painted on cloth and installed on a Moorpark boy's bedroom ceiling. The boy picked out which head and tail he wanted and specified it was to be a "balrog dragon". The wingspan is 7 1/2 ft. Motifs like this can be painted on cloth and installed with repositionable adhesive so the piece can be easily removed for storage or a new home. They also can be easily rolled and shipped and pieces like this have been installed as far away as India.
KitchenFor this kitchen in Simi Valley, Jeff used his Renaissance Scroll stencil to break up the large amount of white molding. He also created an accent piece out of the white hood and anchored the ceiling fixture with a medallion that echoed the proportions of the kitchen island.
Faux and Stenciled Ceiling Beams
Tented CeilingThis ceiling was in a breakfast nook.
Theodora DomeA shallow dome in Palos Verdes was dressed-up with a faux that echoed the stone nearby and a metallic bronze design laid on top.
22′ Diameter DomeThis design adds drama to an entry turret in Somis. The colors echo the rug far below.
Horse CeilingThis was painted on a groin ceiling in Palos Verdes. Some of the horses are portraits of the owner's thoroughbreds.
Stenciled MedallionStenciled medallion around a Moroccan lantern in Moorpark.
Italian CeilingThis was painted on a groin ceiling in Palos Verdes. The lions symbolize the client's zodiac sign, Leo.
Italian Ceiling DetailThis was painted on a groin ceiling in Palos Verdes. The lions symbolize the client's zodiac sign, Leo.
Coffered CeilingThis coffered dining room ceiling in The Oaks in Calabasas was stenciled and fauxed to tie in with the fabrics below. This home belongs to producer David Kirschner.
