Murals

Chester’s RetaurantThis dome was painted using some of Jeff's stencils. The column was also fauxed. This was an awkward space to paint, wedged between the edge of the dome and the column. This can be viewed at Chester's Asian Restaurant in Camarillo.
Maureen O’ HaraUsing a very limited palette, two walls of this small powder room were painted to coordinate with the wall upholstery. The sky color matched the pale wood floor. The other walls were mirrored and we found the glass really had a green cast to it, so we put a touch of green into the mural in the form of a lizard.
Dome VenusA dome in a doctor's office in Camarillo.
ParisThis mural is in a flower shop called "Flowers Heaven Scent" on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks.
Saint TropezThis is the Beverly Hills dining room that the Painted Cupboard was in and the Horse was viewed from. This client was among Jeff's favorites of all time, a pure pleasure to work with.
Malibu TreeThis mural was painted to hide five large ugly speakers in the entertainment room. Can you spot three of them? The walls had already been painted in Ralph Lauren's suede paint which actually worked well when it came to sanding and aging the mural. This piece is based on a mural we found in one of the client's books on Italy.
TapestryThis was painted in a hallway in Camarillo which only the homeowners used. Likenesses were rendered in period style of the family members.
TerraceThis was painted on canvas and installed on a terrace at a Pasadena Showcase House. Most people missed it because they would come out onto the balcony, enjoy the view, and then walk out. The whole time their backs were to the artwork.
Trompe l’oeil DraperyTrompe l'oeil drapery in a guest powder room.
Pirate MuralThe beach scene was painted directly on the wall in Palos Verdes. The animals and pirate elements were painted separately and applied to the wall so that when the child outgrew the "cute" elements, they could be removed and he would have a "cool dude" beach scene. The Jolly Roger sail was also painted.
India MuralThis mural was created using some of Jeff's stencils. This was in a bedroom.
NicheThis piece fitted perfectly in the home's entry. The stone surround matched the tile floor and the urn matched one that was in the living room. It was a subtle piece that added just a bit of color and interest to a barren entry wall.
Trompe l’oeil RailingThis back staircase was painted for a Lake Sherwood Showcase House. The railing matched the one on the main staircase. Several designers were fooled as they reached for the trompe l'oeil handrail.
Tuscany DiningThis is the largest Tuscany mural that Jeff has painted. It is in a dining room in Calabasas.
Tuscany Landscape Mural
HorseThis Beverly Hills Garage door was viewed from the dining room through French doors so it was enlivened with paint.
Tuscan WindowThis is the number one subject matter that Jeff is asked to paint - Tuscany landscape. The village is Artimino, but artistic licence was used on the surrounding countryside, replacing olive groves with grapevines. About 10 years ago, Jeff was asked to paint a lot of cats, but more recently, cats seem to have fallen out of fashion. About 75% of Jeff's mural commissions have an alcohol theme, which is ironic, because he doesn't drink. Also people look at his portfolio and say that he must like cats, but actually he doesn't, his clients like cats. Jeff has taught a two-day class of this image (without cat) to professionals across the country.
WineThis bare wall in San Juan Capistrano was given interest by creating the illusion of a wine cellar. The tapestry and wall sconces coordinated with existing pieces. The clients had been given a bottle of expensive wine as a gift and they thought it would be humorous to paint a whole case of it.
Wine Room Faux and MuralThis mural was painted based on a Westlake Village client's own photo.
PasadenaThis mural was painted in the last Pasadena Showcase House that Jeff participated in. The iron grille vent was incorporated into the mural and the trompe l'oeil iron work matched the real railings on the exterior of the house.
Peter PanThis was painted in a Calabasas bedroom about 17 years ago. The client complained the whole time and still is the most difficult client that Jeff has ever had to work with. The left side of the mural is based on the Peter Pan ride in Disneyland. The bed went beneath it in the corner.
Crane
Lion FountainThis trompe l'oeil lion fountain is made using my line of stencils .
Baroque FantasyThis showy piece was in the Rutt showroom at the Pacific Design Center. In the Baroque period, it was a status symbol to own exotic pets and if you could afford your tailor to sew clothing for it... well, you were royalty!
